Sigma AU Lore: Blonda (car manufacturer)

Background:
Blonda's story is as much about its vehicles as it is about its founder, Alejandro Montalvo, a man whose life was marked by struggle, resilience, and an unrelenting passion for mechanics. Born in a small town in Mexico in 2045, Alejandro grew up in poverty, with few opportunities to escape his circumstances. His father was a mechanic who worked long hours to support the family, and it was in his father's modest workshop that Alejandro first discovered his love for machines.

Despite the hardships, Alejandro displayed a natural talent for mechanics from a young age. By the time he was 14, he could dismantle and rebuild engines with ease, and by 18, he was well-known in his town as the go-to person for fixing anything with an engine. However, life took a tragic turn when his parents were killed during a war-related incident, forcing Alejandro to flee to the United States to avoid a similar fate.

Military Service and Skill Development:
Arriving in the United States as an undocumented immigrant, Alejandro faced numerous challenges, including finding stable work. After several years of scraping by with odd jobs, he enlisted in the U.S. military in 2065, hoping to gain citizenship and build a better life. The timing was critical, as the world was on the brink of World War III. Alejandro was quickly deployed, and his mechanical skills were put to use in the maintenance of military vehicles.

Over the course of the war, Alejandro honed his abilities, working on everything from tanks to high-performance reconnaissance vehicles. His ingenuity and ability to make do with limited resources earned him a reputation among his peers, and he was eventually promoted to a senior mechanic position, responsible for maintaining an entire fleet. The war years also exposed him to cutting-edge military technology, further expanding his knowledge and fueling his dreams of one day creating his own vehicles.

Founding Blonda:
After the war ended in 2077, Alejandro found himself with a wealth of experience and a burning desire to create something of his own. He settled in Sigma City, a new hub of technological innovation and a place where dreams could be realized for those with the determination to pursue them. In 2082, with little more than his savings and a few loyal friends who shared his vision, Alejandro founded Blonda Motors.

Initially, Blonda was a small operation, focused on building a single sports car—the Slickquick. The car was a moderately successful entry into the competitive sports car market, featuring sleek design and impressive performance. Alejandro’s philosophy was simple: create vehicles that were fast, fun, and accessible to a wide range of customers.
The Slickquick, with its various engine options, became a symbol of this philosophy, offering everything from an efficient I6 to a powerful V10 track variant. The car's design allowed for easy customization, making it a favorite among tuners and performance enthusiasts.

Despite its success, Alejandro's true passion lay in motorcycles, inspired by his love for speed and the minimalist elegance of two-wheeled machines. In 2085, Blonda released the Renegade, a quad-wheel motorcycle that defied convention. Powered by the V8 engine from the Slickquick, the Renegade was a bold statement, blending raw power with innovative design. It was based on research into the Lazareth LM847 and Dodge Tomahawk, resulting in a machine that was as much an engineering marvel as it was a thrill to ride.

Blonda’s Return to Four-Wheels:
Although Blonda had initially focused on motorcycles after the Slickquick, Alejandro never abandoned his dream of building more four-wheel vehicles. By the 2090s, Blonda had established itself as a niche manufacturer with a cult following, known for its daring designs and uncompromising performance. As the company grew, Alejandro decided it was time to return to four wheels, driven by a desire to create something truly unique that would set Blonda apart from other manufacturers.

In 2095, Blonda unveiled its newest creation: the Blonda Desperado. The Desperado was a fusion of Alejandro's experiences, combining the rugged durability he learned in the military with the performance and style that Blonda was known for. The vehicle was a four-door off-road coupe, a unique and daring concept that reflected Alejandro’s defiance of conventional categories.

The Desperado featured a high ground clearance, reinforced suspension, and large, all-terrain tires, making it capable of tackling any environment. Its body was made from lightweight, recycled materials, staying true to Blonda's commitment to sustainability. The design was aggressive, with sharp lines and an imposing presence that made it look ready for both the streets of Sigma City and the uncharted wilderness beyond.
Under the hood, the Desperado was powered by a twin-turbocharged V8 engine, capable of producing 800HP. A more powerful variant, featuring a V12 hybrid powertrain with 1200HP, was also available. Both versions offered Blonda’s signature widebody package, enhancing stability and handling at high speeds.

The interior of the Desperado was designed with both luxury and functionality in mind. High-quality leather, carbon fiber accents, and advanced infotainment systems provided a comfortable experience for the driver and passengers. The vehicle also featured adaptive suspension and multiple driving modes, allowing it to seamlessly transition from a city cruiser to an off-road beast.

The Desperado was an instant hit, appealing to a new generation of drivers who sought adventure and individuality. Its blend of performance, durability, and unique design set it apart from anything else on the market. The Desperado marked Blonda’s successful re-entry into the four-wheel vehicle market and solidified the company’s reputation as a bold and innovative manufacturer.
