Vosstat Izognya (Russian Восстат Изогня, translit. Rise from Fire) is the protagonist of her own story arc and one of the key figures in the Sigma AU. She is a tall and imposing anthropomorphic white wolf, born out of a failed attempt to resurrect Ravenna Wildfire.
Description
Physical description
Voss stands at 7 feet 9 inches tall, placing her between Zoey Lavender (8'4") and Etrius vanRandr (7'7"). Her torso and limbs are white, marked with thin lines of glowing bioluminescent flesh tracing the surgical scars of her creation. Her eyes glow red, complementing her back-length red hair. She has sharp black claws and a muscular build, slightly surpassing both Ilia and Ravenna in strength. Her expression is often neutral, carrying an undertone of insecurity.
Her intimate areas, such as her nipples, genitalia, and the interior of her mouth—emit a subtle red glow, akin to her eyes. Unlike Ravenna or Zoey, Voss's anatomy includes vulpine humanoid breasts and six additional nipples below them. Her vaginal structure is akin to that of a wolf, with a fortune-cookie-shaped labial design.
Personality
Voss is empathetic and compassionate, striving to help others while battling her internal guilt and uncertainty about her origins. Her kind demeanor is coupled with a shy and reserved nature, often preventing her from seeking help for herself. Despite her struggles, she shows immense determination to forge her own identity, distancing herself from Ravenna's malevolence.
Her personality mirrors aspects of Etrius's, particularly his tendency to question his purpose, but she approaches her journey with a unique blend of optimism and self-awareness.
Character History
Beginnings
Voss's existence began as a project to recreate Ravenna Wildfire. A group of twelve cultists, loyal to Ravenna, recovered her body from the ruins of the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg and transported it to Vladimir Petrovich’s laboratory in Tver. Efforts to resurrect Ravenna failed due to the extensive damage to her body. Left with no alternative, the cultists turned to creating a new being.
Using Petrovich’s formulae, they constructed a stronger, more resilient body. However, they lacked his expertise in mental conditioning, resulting in Voss’s development as an untainted mind. Upon awakening, disoriented and unconditioned, she lashed out violently, killing most of the cultists before collapsing. The lone survivor attempted to indoctrinate her into Ravenna’s ideology, but Voss rejected these efforts and fled, leaving Tver behind.
The Cult Revival Attempt
In her absence, the remaining cultist resurrected Rallus Verscale, Petrovich's first experiment, who had died prematurely. Reconstructed as a mechanical puppet with traces of free will, Rallus became a vessel for the cult’s ambitions to restore Ravenna’s regime.
Learning of Rallus’s existence, Voss recognized her limitations. Lacking the experience and resources to confront such a threat, she resolved to seek out Etrius vanRandr, the person responsible for Ravenna’s initial defeat.
Journey to Etrius
Traveling through the remnants of post-war Russia, Voss pieced together Ravenna’s history, learning about the atrocities she had committed and the pivotal role Etrius played in her downfall. With Ravenna's journal and glaive in hand, she navigated a harsh, unfamiliar world, gradually honing her survival skills.
Eventually reaching Sigma City, she operated from its outskirts, using guerrilla tactics to survive and establish herself. Her growing reputation eventually drew Etrius’s attention.
Meeting with Etrius
Etrius, now a high-ranking mercenary entrenched in Sigma City’s political and corporate landscape, was sent to confront Voss. Etrius believed, somehow, that this was Ravenna. The face was the same, the weapon was the same, and the skills and movements were the same - yet, something was different. Her voice, her demeanor, her fight for survival rather than for terror.
Their clash showcased her capabilities, with Voss wielding Ravenna’s glaive and demonstrating intelligence, strategy, and combat skills rivaling Etrius's. After gaining the upper hand momentarily, Voss managed to convince him of her intentions.
Following weeks of cautious dialogue, Voss and Etrius reconciled. She revealed Rallus's existence and the threat he posed, setting the stage for an alliance against the remnants of Ravenna’s influence.
Abilities and Skills
Fire Magic: Voss possesses control over fire, enabling her to create, manipulate, and extinguish flames at will. She can compress plasma into bolts of destructive energy, akin to lightning, though she avoids using these abilities unless necessary.
Physical Aptitude: Her reflexes exceed Etrius’s, allowing her to predict and evade projectiles by analyzing their trajectory. She has heightened senses of sight, smell, and hearing, enabling her to detect subtle changes in her environment. She can leap significant distances, survive high falls, and withstand harsh conditions.
Combat Skills: Voss is an adept fighter, combining agility with tactical precision. While her marksmanship and technical knowledge are not on par with Etrius or Zoey, she excels in crafting practical clothing and armor from available materials.
Equipment and Weapons
Clothing: Voss wears a simple black leather corset and leggings, supplemented by a black-and-red cloak.
Ravenna’s Glaive: A relic imbued with fiery power, the glaive serves as both a weapon and a symbol of her connection to Ravenna’s legacy. Despite its origin, Voss uses it out of practicality rather than sentimentality.
Additional Armaments: While proficient with firearms, Voss rarely relies on them, favoring close-quarters combat or her natural abilities.
